The CUPRA KIRO driver finished seventh in Saturday’s race.
In Sunday’s race, he narrowly missed out on the points, crossing the line in twelfth place.
Pepe Martí enjoyed a productive points haul during the Berlin double-header. The CUPRA KIRO driver came close to securing points in both races, eventually ending the weekend with six points thanks to his seventh-place finish in Saturday’s race. In Sunday’s event, he once again came close to the top ten and crossed the line in twelfth position.
Pepe arrived in Berlin aiming to build on the strong progress he has shown throughout his rookie Formula E campaign. The Spaniard travelled to Germany encouraged by his standout performance at the CUPRA Raval E-Prix in Madrid, where he led a Formula E race for the first time in front of his home crowd, and determined to continue contributing valuable points to the team.
And he delivered from the very first race of the weekend. Starting from fifteenth on the grid, Pepe Martí once again showcased his strategic awareness, climbing through the field to secure an impressive seventh-place finish.
The key was highly efficient energy management during the opening stages of the race, which allowed him to push in the decisive laps and join the leading pack.
In a race shaped by the Pit Boost — the mandatory stop to recharge 10% of the battery when its capacity drops between 60% and 40% — Pepe delayed his pit stop as much as possible and made the most of his pace in clean air to gain several positions.
The second race at Tempelhof Airport followed a very different script. With no Pit Boost and a double activation of Attack Mode, the race was expected to revolve around careful energy and tyre management. As a result, the CUPRA KIRO team opted for an alternative strategy, with both drivers starting from the back of the grid.
The strategy came close to paying off. Pepe Martí made a strong start and quickly began moving up the order, even breaking into the points-paying positions while maintaining a very competitive energy level. However, after completing both Attack Mode activations and 37 laps of racing, he ultimately had to settle for twelfth place.
Even so, the six points scored on Saturday have lifted Pepe to tenth place in the World Championship standings, where he now sits on 25 points. Having scored in five of the eight rounds contested so far, the Catalan driver is already focused on the upcoming Monaco double-header, scheduled for May 16 and 17 in Mónaco.
