Pepe Martí ended the Formula E weekend in Tokyo on a bittersweet note. The CUPRA KIRO driver had secured an eighth-place finish in the first race after recovering from 18th on the grid, scoring four points thanks to strong energy management.
In the second race, Martí started from ninth and remained in contention for points during the opening laps. However, on lap 15, he was hit by Sébastien Buemi and ended up against the wall, forcing him to retire from the race.
The weekend was affected by changing weather conditions, with rain and varying levels of moisture on the track making qualifying particularly challenging. Despite this, Martí had shown good pace and continued to have a chance of moving closer to the championship's top ten.
The Tokyo round left the Spanish driver with four points and was followed by the final round of the season, which was due to take place in London from 14 to 16 August, where Martí would aim to finish his first Formula E campaign among the top ten drivers in the championship.
