Pepe led in front of his home crowd at the CUPRA RAVAL E-Prix of Jarama.

He eventually finished ninth, adding two points in his fifth Formula E event.

Pepe started from twelfth on the grid and, thanks to a well-judged use of Attack Mode, managed to lead the race for several laps. In the end, he secured ninth place, once again scoring points for the CUPRA KIRO team.

This week’s event, particularly demanding as it was held on home soil, began with a low-key opening day for Pepe, who finished nineteenth in the first free practice session.

On Saturday morning, the Catalan driver improved his performance with a sixteenth-place finish in the second session. In wet qualifying conditions, Martí placed sixth in his group, earning twelfth on the starting grid.

The race began under different conditions to qualifying: the track was much drier, although there were still some damp patches. Pepe lost several positions at the start and dropped as low as fifteenth, but reacted quickly to regain ground and settle into thirteenth place.

From that point on, the race entered a strategy-driven phase. Following the debut of the ‘Pit Boost’ in Jeddah, this event once again featured mandatory pit stops for energy recharging, adding a decisive element to race management.

The turning point came on lap seven. Unlike in previous E-Prix, Pepe opted to activate Attack Mode early. From sixteenth position, he made the most of those six extra minutes of power to deliver a remarkable comeback, climbing all the way into the race lead.

On lap fourteen, while running in the lead, Martí completed his Pit Boost —recharging 10% of the battery in just half a minute— and rejoined the race in eleventh place. Several rivals still had to make their stops, although many also had Attack Mode available for the closing stages.

Without that extra advantage in the final laps, Pepe managed to hold his ground and maintain a strong pace against strategically better-equipped competitors. He ultimately crossed the line in ninth position, adding two valuable points for CUPRA KIRO.

Those two points, added to the nine from the second race in Jeddah (sixth place and fastest lap), the two from Miami (ninth place), and the six from Mexico City (seventh place), bring Pepe Martí’s total to 19 points in the championship standings. The next round of the season will be a double-header, taking place from 1 to 3 May in Berlin.
