A puncture while he was battling in the first race left him without points.

Starting fourteenth in the second race, he finished sixth.

Fourteen overtakes in total and, once again, the right strategy and fastest lap.

Pepe  secured his best result to date in the FIA Formula E World Championship during the second race in Jeddah. The CUPRA KIRO driver started fourteenth and climbed eight places to finish sixth, scoring eight points for the team. From five races contested, Martí has scored in three of them and now totals 17 points in the Championship.

It was a double-header event in Saudi Arabia. Formula E ran the first race of the Championship on Friday, featuring Pit Boost. Pepe started fifteenth and moved up to eleventh on the opening lap, but a puncture forced him into the pit lane and ruined his chances of scoring points.

In Saturday’s practice session, Pepe finished sixteenth but felt more comfortable than on Friday with the CUPRA KIRO electric single-seater. In qualifying, the Catalan driver secured seventh place in his group, meaning he would start the race from fourteenth on the grid.

In the race, he made another strong start, similar to Friday’s, and ended the first lap in tenth position. Contact with another driver caused him to lose a few places; however, his use of Attack Mode was so well timed that he was able to fight back.

Pepe overtook several drivers — 14 passes in total during the race — and climbed to sixth place and set the fastest lap. On the final lap, he even battled his team-mate for fifth, which speaks volumes about his recovery drive, especially considering his team-mate had started ninth.

In the end, he crossed the finish line in sixth position, improving on his result in Mexico and achieving his best performance so far in the all-electric World Championship. He finished just behind his team-mate, making it an excellent result for CUPRA KIRO TEAM.

After the best result of the season so far for Pepe and the team, Formula E now turns its attention to home soil, at Circuito del Jarama. The Cupra Raval E-Prix of Madrid will take place on 20 and 21 March.
